This Carbon Monoxide (CO) and flammable gas sensor MQ 9 detects the concentrations of CO and combustible gas in the air and ouputs its reading as an analog voltage. The sensor can measure concentrations of CO from 10 to 1,000 ppm and flammable gas from 100 to 10,000 ppm.The sensor can operate at temperatures from -10 to 50°C and consumes less than 150 mA at 5 V. Please read the MQ 9 datasheet for more information about the sensor. The Grove – Gas Sensor(MQ 9) module is useful for gas leakage detection (in home and industry). It is suitable for detecting LPG, CO, CH4. Due to its high sensitivity and fast response time, measurements can be taken as soon as possible. The sensitivity of the sensor can be adjusted by using the potentiometer.

Sensitive material of MQ 9 gas sensor is SnO2, which with lower conductivity in clean air. It make detection by method of cycle high and low temperature, and detect CO when low temperature (heated by 1.5 V). The sensor’s conductivity is more higher along with the gas concentration rising. When high temperature (heated by 5.0 V), it detects Methane, Propane etc combustible gas and cleans the other gases adsorbed under low temperature.

Please use simple electro-circuit, Convert change of conductivity to correspond output signal of gas concentration. MQ 9 gas sensor has high sensitivity to Carbon Monoxide, Methane and LPG.
